Natural Gas Weekly Recap - December Futures (NGZ26 @ 2.986) | 11.06.2026

In today's natural gas weekly recap for Friday, November 6, 2026, Elk Trading Company President Tim Beggans breaks down what's driving the spot December contract (NGZ26).
December futures are up, trading near 2.994 (+4.7 cents, about 1.6%) after testing the 13-period EMA near 3.03, with a session high of 3.04 and the RSI pointing up. Colder weather is moving in, especially for the Southeast, and LNG is surprising to the upside, even at Freeport. Yesterday's EIA report showed a +77 Bcf injection versus +39 Bcf last year and a five-year average of +61 Bcf, putting about 3.8 Tcf in the ground, with another 246 Bcf to go before reaching 2016's record 4.047 Tcf. The 6–10 and 8–14 day outlooks stay above normal in the upper Midwest, but cooler air shows up inside those averages, with cold hitting Texas this weekend and the East around November 13. Overseas, EU storage is down to 73.8% from a 76% peak, Germany sits near 60%, UK storage is just under 43% with Rough still empty, and the UK December contract shows a triple-peak RSI, a possible top. On LNG, Cameron is running 1.543 of 1.56, Freeport is set to return to 1.8 Bcf after compressor work, Creole Trail is at 1.526 of 1.7, Corpus Christi 2.733 of 2.75, Calcasieu Pass just under 1.7, Plaquemines 4.252 and Golden Pass TSQ 808,435. We also track a turn toward a negative AO and NAO, a possible sudden stratospheric warming in mid-November, and 19.1 GW of US nuclear capacity offline. December closes out the recap near 2.986, up 3.9 cents.
