In today's natural gas market update for Tuesday, November 3, 2026, Elk Trading Company President Tim Beggans breaks down what's driving the spot December contract (NGZ26).

December futures are up 1.1 cents to 2.867, but after three straight days of sideways action, the market is going nowhere fast. The RSI is oversold, but there's no bullish catalyst yet from weather or LNG. The Jan/Dec spread is near 47.8 cents, well above the normal 25 cents, and should snap in if colder weather shows up. The 6–10 and 8–14 day outlooks show near-normal temperatures in the Southeast and above-normal temperatures for much of the West through mid-November. Overseas, EU storage is 74.6% full and Germany is at 61%. UK storage is about 41% full, and Dutch TTF is down 4% on hopes for progress between the US and Iran. We also track US LNG terminal flows, including the week-long problems at Freeport, 19.7 GW of US nuclear capacity offline, sudden stratospheric warming signals, and a disturbance off Florida.

Can colder weather or stronger LNG demand give oversold December natural gas the catalyst it needs? Let us know your thoughts and price targets in the comments below!
