The path to a carbon-free grid requires innovation, scale—and reliability. Fervo Energy is stepping up to deliver all three.

In a major leap for geothermal energy, Fervo has signed a 15-year, 31 MW power purchase agreement with Shell Energy, announced in their latest press release. This deal supports Shell’s decarbonization goals in California while highlighting Fervo’s ability to provide 24/7, dispatchable clean power—a critical piece of the energy transition puzzle.

Fervo's Cape Station in Nevada, now under construction, will be the most advanced geothermal facility in the U.S. when it comes online in 2026. By using fiber-optic sensing and horizontal drilling—a fusion of oilfield precision and clean energy ambition—Fervo is redefining how geothermal power can scale.

Shell Energy’s move is more than a business deal—it's a strategic bet on the future of baseload renewables. The grid needs clean power that’s not just intermittent, but always on. That’s exactly what Fervo brings to the table.

This agreement follows Fervo’s successful Project Red demo in 2023, proving that enhanced geothermal systems can work at scale. The momentum is real, and it’s reshaping the clean energy landscape.
